NaNoWriMo November! I am Wycce

Okay I've just posted my first 5K words on Smashwords for the contest.  Although I have enough on my plate right now, the idea of writing without a really solid outline is kind of scary.  Not enough time for the contest, but can I write 50k words of decent draft in one month?  We shall see!

https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/78525
Well it is finally edited and out on Smashwords!

Ebook Short Description

When an immortal evil is evoked in a small New England town to destroy an ancient bloodline Arianrhod Danann and her lover risk more than their lives as they draw on the secret rites of two legendary cultures, those of the ancient Egyptians and those of the Celtic Druids, to defeat it.

Extended Description

A young woman is destined to become Banriona, Queen of the Witches, but she must also face the Demon of Annwn, from a netherworld where time and space are endless. Will Arianrhod survive the rite of ascension and defeat the demon or will her soul be trapped forever in the depths of the Annwn . . .

Crom-Cruach screamed from the triangle. Tonight, he was certain he would have her. The Tuatha fawn. He had been so close, so many times. Now he was determined to have her no matter the price. He streaked across time and space searching for her, reaching out to her, to the place that Peter was leading him. Then he saw it. A light, glowing like a beacon from an ancient hilltop. Through the Abred he descended, his great dragon claws reaching out.

She was there, naked, mating in ritual with a man. The glow swirling around them was intense as Crom-Cruach sought to snatch them both. His claws slashed against the circle as sparks of light shot out into the astral. He couldn’t get through! The Tuatha AsarlaĆ! He screamed in frustration and then circled round again. He had to have her. He would break through the wizard’s wall!

Suddenly he heard it. A noise like a distant rumble that seemed to come from everywhere and yet nowhere. It grew louder, closer.

It was a lot of fun writing and we hope you all enjoy reading it!!

New Novel to be released soon.

The novel "Demon of Annwn" is still on schedule for electronic release as an e-book this coming August 1st.  We are very excited about this project.  Here is a very brief introduction to the novel:

When an immortal evil is evoked in a small New England town to destroy an ancient bloodline Arianrhod Danann and her lover risk more than their lives as they draw on the secret rites of two legendary cultures, those of the ancient Egyptians and those of the Celtic Druids, to defeat it.

After the brutal murder of her Grandmother, Arianrhod returns home only to be thrust into a world of witchcraft and black magic. There she must choose between her life in cosmopolitan Boston, or assume her birthright as the head of a clan of sorcerers whose ancestors escaped the Salem Witch Trails.

Descended from the mythic Celtic race of the Tuatha de Danann, Arianrhod is plagued by erotic memories from a former life in ancient Egypt. Through the combined magical systems of these two vastly different cultures the evil may be confronted. To do this she must decide whether to follow her heart and the man she loves or perform the ancient sexual rite of the 'Dream' with the man she recognized from her life in ancient Egypt. Only this ritual can bring together the forces needed to defeat the shape-shifting demon who stalks her and threatens all of Whitewood.

"The Demon of Annwn" draws from actual occult practices as it weaves a spell of murder, seduction, and love in a fast paced and exciting story.

Please watch this blog for details on how to order this when it comes out.

This week's update!!! July 10, 2011

Trying to get the free shortie prequel (Covenant of the Cauldron) done before the first book in the Banriona: Queen of the Witches series, the Demon of Annwn is released on August 1st, but not sure if that is going to happen.  We're about half-way through the book and we are trying to keep it reasonably short which is getting difficult.  Sometime in the future it will have to be a bigger book.  So when Covenant of the Cauldron (the prequel) gets out - that date is still in the hands of the Gods . . .

We have everything done for the first book in the series (The Demon of Annwn) except the cover.  The artwork that has rights I don't like and the stuff I'm finding that I do like, I can't find the copyright holder!  Artists that I like are booked or just doing certain publishing houses.  And, like everyone else, we're on a tight budget.  Very annoying.

If anybody has any suggestions, I have a pix or two that I like the style for some guidance, let me know.  Even a student or someone breaking into the art field I would entertain.  The series is in a contemporary setting with Celtic and Egyptian magic threads and of course the first book has a shapeshifting demon.  We are into the second book of the series already with plans for the third.  So if we find an artist, and as we really like this story line, we could be talking quite a few covers over the next few years.
